12 people died due to fake tickets for a football match
On the night of March 20-21 in El Salvador, at the Estadio Cuscatlán stadium in the capital, a match between the FAS and Alliance clubs was supposed to take place, but because of enterprising scammers, it all ended in tragedy.
Match 1 4 finals of the Premier League of El Salvador promised to be spectacular.
The Estadio Cuscatlán stadium holds almost 46,000 people, but many times more tickets were sold for this match.
Fraudsters also worked along with the official distributors of tickets. Naturally, when spectators were let into the stadium, fans with false tickets were turned back.
Frustrated fans decided to force their way through the only 2 entrances to the stands. The police, with such zeal, disagreed and fired tear gas.
As a result, there was a stampede in which more than 100 people were injured, 12 were killed and 2 more are in critical condition.
The match was suspended, emergency services evacuated people from the stadium. The tragedy comes seven months after 135 people, including more than 40 children, died in a stampede after a football match in Malang, Indonesia.
