Sometimes, love for animals clouds people's minds and turns into harm.
This story began when a group of volunteers from an animal rescue center visited a woman who lived in a small portable house. There were also 40 cats and two dogs in this cramped space. They were all in bad shape and needed help, but the life of one cat was hanging by a thread.
When Ann, as the volunteers called her, got to the veterinarians, her weight did not reach 1.5 kg. And yes, this is a normal weight for a four-month-old kitten, but our heroine was already 14 years old. She could hardly stand on her trembling legs, because she had practically no muscles... Just bones that were covered with skin.
She required round-the-clock care and very frequent small feedings. This would be very difficult to organize at a shelter, because there are many other animals in need. Therefore, volunteer Brianna decided to take Ann into her home and help her recover.
Brianna fed Ann small amounts every few hours to get the cat's body used to the food. Ann was constantly shaking from the cold, so she had to be constantly kept warm and wrapped in warm towels. But Brianna had no plans to give up.
Several weeks passed before Anne gained enough strength to move around the house on her own and explore it. Slowly, but she was on her way to recovery.
As Anne gained weight, she began to show off her radiant personality: she turned out to be a very gentle and friendly cat. She came out of her warm bed and went to meet the other cats who live with Brianna.
She even started playing with toys.
Despite what Anne has been through, she still trusts people.
During the 4 months of living in Brianna's house, Ann showed incredible progress - she gained three kilograms and now weighs 4.5 kg.
