What Disney Animals Would Look Like as Humans (11 photos)

While the animals in Disney movies are usually easy to recognize, many of us still relate to them as people — after all, they are heavily anthropomorphic and exhibit distinct human traits. A Wisconsin-based artist who goes by the alias Pugletto took this concept even further, reimagining these characters as humans while incorporating culturally authentic features.

She told Cosmopolitan magazine that she was frustrated by the sheer number of "white, red-headed Simbas" out there.

"The story takes place in Africa, after all!" Pugletto says.
