Mistakes of youth: three British women regret getting face tattoos while drunk and acting foolishly (12 photos)
Only the most daring individuals get face tattoos. Yet, such bold spirits can be found even among celebrities—Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, and Presley Gerber come to mind. Reckless teenagers get inked on their faces to stand out from the crowd and show off to their friends. However, as they get older, most of them regret their impulsive decision and try to get the tattoos removed. Read the stories of three women who wish they could turn back time and avoid wearing the marks of their youthful recklessness on their faces.
In the past, people only got face tattoos when they had run out of space for new designs elsewhere on their bodies. Nowadays, young people frequently get text and patterns inked on their necks and faces. Teenagers often fail to consider that they might deeply regret this choice later in life. Such decisions are frequently made while under the influence of alcohol or simply to show off to friends.
Three British women got face tattoos in their youth but now bitterly regret it. They have shared their stories to warn others against making the same mistake.
Two dots and a ridiculous inscription
Kitty Jabi, a 25-year-old from London, has two dots tattooed under her eyes and an anarchist-style symbol on the inside of her lip. Across her neck runs the inscription: "I am not just a body, I am a human." The phrase is scrawled haphazardly and contains spelling errors. Kitty got the tattoo a year ago and now only wears her hair down to hide the writing.
The two dots under her eyes and the anarchy symbol on the inside of her lip seemed like a good idea at the time, but she now deeply regrets the decision. The tattoos were not done by a professional artist, but by a friend who had bought a tattoo gun on eBay.
Kitty made this rash decision at a party while quite intoxicated. The next morning, she woke up with a terrible hangover and a sense of regret over what had happened. The young woman thought they were just drawings and tried to wash them off in the bathroom, but all her attempts were in vain.
The British woman's family still teases her about her ridiculous tattoos. Kitty advises against ever getting a tattoo while drunk.
A "piercing" made with pen ink
24-year-old Jasmine Chance from Glastonbury has five or six nose piercings. She frequently attends festivals and raves, where she constantly loses her jewelry. Two years ago, she and a friend got very drunk and decided to get a tattoo that looked like a nose piercing. They created the design using a sterile needle and pen ink, having learned the method online. The next day, the Briton laughed at herself.
Jasmine says that most of her acquaintances like the tattoo. They admit they wish they were as bold as she is. She replies that it wasn't an act of bravery, but the influence of alcohol. Now, she cringes at the sight of the tattoo on her nose. When Jasmine's family saw her tattoo, they called her an idiot.
The British woman has many tattoos. She got her first design on her ankle at the age of 18. Her style hasn't changed since then, but she advises anyone whose tastes shift frequently never to get a face tattoo.
Face tattoos change how people perceive you
Gypsy Riddle Fleur, 23, from Bristol, got several face tattoos in her youth. At the time, she loved them. Initially, she would draw the designs with eyeliner to see how they looked, but at 18, she decided to get permanent ink.
Gypsy first got three horizontal lines across the bridge of her nose, representing the past, present, and future. She viewed them as a symbol of struggle, courage, and female strength. Later, she added another tattoo consisting of two vertical lines running from her left eye down her cheek, as well as three dots near her eyebrows arranged in a triangle and five more dots above one eyebrow. She has an infinity symbol tattooed near her ear and two dots beneath her eyes.
The British woman did the tattoos herself, and later a tattoo artist friend refined them to make them look sharper and more attractive.
Gypsy now regrets getting facial tattoos. She has matured, and others find the tattoos strange; they cause people to view her in a completely different light. It is a pity that no one talked her out of such a rash decision when she was younger.
The British woman is considering laser tattoo removal. Gypsy advises anyone thinking about getting a facial tattoo to carefully consider how it might affect their future.
However, not everyone regrets their tattoos. An Instagram star who calls herself the "White Blue-Eyed Dragon" stunned her followers with a photo taken before her body modifications. The Australian woman is proud to have covered her entire body in ink.
