Two drunken girls stole a sword from a monument
In Wroclaw, Poland, two women climbed onto a fountain with a fencing statue and removed a decorative sword from the monument.
Last night, a 24-year-old Wroclaw resident attempted to steal a sword from the famous "Fencer" monument near the University of Wroclaw.
According to Polish media, the woman climbed onto the fountain and attempted to remove a metal sword from the sculpture. In the process, she also damaged a part of the monument. An acquaintance assisted her, filming the incident on her phone.
However, the plan failed: a city monitoring operator noticed the suspicious behavior, and Straz Miejska officers quickly arrived on the scene and detained the woman.
This is not the first time someone has attempted to steal a sword from the famous "Fencer." City authorities regularly encounter such vandalism attempts.
Now, instead of a "souvenir," the girl faces liability for damaging city property.
