The secret to the longevity of the Hunza people (4 photos)
Many books have been written about this rare ability, and researchers are still trying to find an explanation for this "oasis of youth" to help eradicate disease worldwide.
What contributes to such perfect health?
The Hunza tribe truly amazes its inhabitants. Their women look young at forty, and only at 60 do any signs of age become noticeable. Their figures are like those of a young girl, and their fertility is maintained until 65, and they easily become pregnant and give birth to children.

In 1963, a medical study showed that the average life expectancy of the Hunza tribe was 120 years, but some lived to be 160. They were free of illnesses, no cancer, toothaches, senile dementia, or anything else.
In the summer, the Hunza tribe eats uncooked fruits and vegetables, and in the winter, they eat dried apricots. They also eat sheep's milk cheese and sprouted grains. They also observe a mandatory fast of two to four months, during which they are allowed to drink something like dried apricot compote only once a day.
Scottish physician Robert McCarrison believes the secret to the tribe's longevity lies in their minimal protein intake—less than 50 grams. They consume more than 365 grams of carbohydrates. Their daily caloric intake (when not fasting) is approximately 1,933 kcal. The doctor conducted an experiment on animals—he fed some animals a typical English diet, while the others were fed a Hunza diet. The first group developed various illnesses, while the second group remained in excellent health.
From this, we can conclude that to live long, one must switch to a vegetarian diet, with intermittent fasting. Raw and fresh foods, with minimal salt and no heat or chemical processing, grown locally. However, how to maintain cheerfulness and calm in the conditions of megacities and a stressful life remains unknown.
