But with a significant caveat – only for one year, after which all financial risks are transferred to the driver.

BYD is expanding its Intelligent Parking insurance, launched in July 2025, to also cover the Urban Navigate feature. This allows BYD to establish itself as the first automaker in the world to offer insurance coverage for its own advanced driver assistance systems, according to Carscoops.

The Chinese company is committed to covering all damages incurred as a result of accidents involving Urban Navigate in God's Eye autopilot mode with firmware version 5.0 or higher. This is provided that the owner complies with the established rules. The warranty is only valid for one year.

According to BYD, its proprietary driver assistance systems are currently used in more than 60 models with a combined sales of nearly 3 million units. The number of serious accidents in autonomous driving mode has been six times lower than in cases where the car is driven by a human, CarNewsChina reports. The number of scratches and minor collisions that occurred with the Intelligent Parking feature activated was approximately 1/50th of similar incidents in manual parking mode.
