An air taxi for up to 10 passengers was successfully tested in China
Flying taxis are gradually moving from futuristic concepts to real-world transportation projects. Chinese company AutoFlight conducted a series of tests of its heavy-duty V5000 Matrix electric air taxi, along with two smaller aircraft. During the tests, engineers practiced interactions between the aircraft, including real-time data exchange, route coordination, and maintaining a safe distance during flight. These technologies are considered key to the future widespread use of air taxis in cities. The V5000 Matrix, capable of carrying up to ten passengers at a time, is among the largest electric vehicles in its class. The developers hope these vehicles will help relieve traffic congestion and become part of new urban transportation infrastructure. Experts note that regulatory, safety, and cost issues still need to be addressed before air taxis are widely adopted. Nevertheless, recent tests show that the air transport of the future is moving closer to everyday reality.
