A McLaren Championship Car Turned into a Giant Lego Set (7 photos)
The scale model features numerous moving parts and an original livery.
In 2025, McLaren and its driver, Lando Norris, ended Red Bull's four-year dominance. To commemorate their victories, Lego unveiled a construction set that, when assembled, creates a scale model of the championship-winning MCL39 car. This exact replica of the Formula One chassis measures 61 centimeters in length.
The McLaren toy car is assembled from 1,675 pieces. The set boasts a high level of detail. For example, the model features functional steering and suspension, as well as moving engine and transmission components. The model is even equipped with a working DRS system, meaning an adjustable rear wing.
The new model is made in 1:8 scale. In addition to its 61-centimeter length, the model is 13 centimeters high and 25 centimeters wide. The detailed paint job, which replicates the livery of Lando Norris's real chassis, further enhances its resemblance to the real championship car.
Lego has already opened pre-orders for the new model, with direct sales beginning March 1st. The set is priced at $230 in the US. In the 2025 season, the McLaren team not only led the drivers' championship but also won the constructors' championship.
