In Thailand, the spring conscription is conducted through a lottery. Young men draw lots: red means they are required to serve in the army, and black means they are exempt.
The campaign runs annually from April 1st to 12th. Participants include men born in 2005, as well as those born in 1997–2004 who previously failed the selection process or evaded service. Each conscript undergoes this process only once in their lifetime.
