A crane chased away an alligator

A sandhill crane startled and chased away an alligator that had emerged from a pond near a private home in Florida.
Sandy Magner and her companion captured this amusing video. It shows a large alligator crawling out of a large pond onto a lawn near a house. A nearby crane soon spotted the reptile. The crane turned toward the alligator, spread its wings, and slowly walked toward it. The reptile remained motionless for a moment, then began to slowly back away.
The alligator eventually entered the pond, and the crane reached the water and attempted to peck the intruder.
Floridians commented on the video that sandhill cranes are very territorial and fearlessly defend their habitats. One commenter declared it "the most Florida video of all."
