In Florida, a large alligator appeared near a shopping center and scared visitors. Arriving law enforcement officers caught a reptile 3.6 meters long and weighing 270 kilograms.
Shoppers told police about a large reptile that was walking among palm trees near the Coconut Point shopping center in the village of Istero. When law enforcement arrived on scene, they found an alligator about 3.6 meters long swimming in a pond near the shopping center.
The video, shot with the chest camera of one of the law enforcement officers, captured the moment when they, with the help of wildlife department employees, loaded the captured reptile into a truck. The weight of the animal is about 270 kilograms.
The alligator was taken away from the home and released into the pond. The largest alligator caught in the state is a male, measuring about 15 feet long, according to the Florida Fish and Natural Resources Conservation Commission. It was caught in Lake Washington in Brevard County.
