Dangerous claws: a cat almost deprived its owner of sight (2 photos + 1 video)
In Santa Rosa, California, 19-year-old Vanessa Contreras Ruiz suffered serious facial injuries, nearly losing an eye, when her pet cat attacked her while she was sleeping. 
The incident occurred on March 6: the girl woke up with severe pain and blood on her face, and her pet, Otis, was sitting next to her. According to his owner, Otis was usually friendly and non-aggressive.
According to the victim, the animal may have been trying to simply get off the bed, but instead used her cheek as a support, causing deep scratches around her eye. Vanessa noted that she holds no ill will toward the pet and continues to consider it part of the family, but now plans to keep it out of her room at night.
