A 19th-century house is being sold right next to a busy highway (6 photos)
A historic 19th-century house in New York State has gone up for sale. However, online users have noticed a subtle detail that has sparked debate.
It turns out the house is located just steps from the New York State Thruway, one of the main arteries into New York City. This detail was pointed out by Reddit user kjb76.
The post has become popular, garnering over 5,500 reactions and nearly 500 comments. According to the user, when he saw a listing for a seven-bedroom, three-bathroom home, he noticed this overlooked detail.
"Welcome to this classic triplex in Nyack, ideally located near community amenities, schools, and public transportation. This is a great opportunity for rental income or multi-generational family living," the Zillow listing reads.
It later turned out that this house was the same one the previous owner had abandoned during the construction of a bridge and highway nearby. The road was then widened, and the previous owners' property was enclosed with a high fence.
