Law enforcement in Warsaw (Wilaniów) have solved a major theft from a salon specializing in wigs and hair extensions.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing the crime. The damage to the business is estimated at nearly €200,000, making this incident one of the largest thefts in this retail segment. The robbery occurred back in August of last year, but the hair thief was only recently apprehended.
According to the investigation, the thief entered the premises through a window and stole approximately 40-50 kilograms of high-quality hair. Most of the stolen goods consisted of natural, uncolored hair (so-called "virgin hair"), which has the highest market value. The salon owner emphasized that in addition to the theft, the thief caused significant damage to the property, effectively destroying some of the unique hair products.
A notable contrast drew public attention to the incident: the suspect who raided the hair shop is completely bald.
Despite the oddity of this circumstance, the legal consequences for the detainee are extremely serious. The actions are classified as burglary and intentional damage to another's property on an especially large scale.
The suspect is currently in custody. According to the Polish Criminal Code, he faces up to 10 years in prison. Police are continuing to search for the stolen raw materials.
