The Super Gyro Tower panoramic ride in Balneário Camboriú stopped operating on the afternoon of January 30th. There were 40 people on board at the time. Those trapped included both adults and children. Footage shows emergency services approaching the platform to organize an evacuation.
Rescuers are securing ropes and protective gear for each person. Some people had to descend to the ground one by one using the rope.
Later, a crew arrived with transport, and the crew managed to load more of the trapped people into the cabin using a special lifting mechanism. A sudden power outage is believed to be the preliminary cause of the incident. It activated the automatic security system and blocked the ride.
