People cried and prayed: 30 people were stuck upside down on a dangerous ride
Nearly 30 visitors to the Oaks amusement park in Portland, US, were left hanging dangerously upside down when the extreme pendulum ride malfunctioned and came to an abrupt stop. As a result, one person ended up in the hospital.
When the ride stopped, park staff quickly called emergency services, which arrived within 25 minutes.Eyewitnesses to the events said they were planning to ride the AtmosFEAR when they saw it stuck and heard people saying, "Oh my God, they're upside down."One person was hospitalized as a result of the incident, all others were released without further examination.
Visitors who found themselves on the attraction told reporters that they “just went crazy.” According to them, "people cried" and "sent out into the universe everything they wanted to say as their last words."
The amusement park clarified that the attraction has been operating since 2021 and has not had any problems before. It also said it would work with the ride's manufacturer and government inspectors to determine the reason for the shutdown.
