Due to bad weather conditions, several rides briefly stopped working, leaving people hanging 243 feet in the air while waiting for help from park staff.

At the Six Flags Mexico amusement park in the middle of a storm, a ride closed, leaving people on board hanging 243 feet (74 meters) in the air for about 10 minutes.

The unfortunate incident occurred on August 18, when one of the rides stopped working during heavy rain and wind. Omar Hernandez Medrano was among the passengers on the Supergirl Sky Flight carousel, also known as Sky Screamer. He said he and his companions were suspended 243 feet above the ground for about 10 minutes before being evacuated.

"We went up on Supergirl and as we were going up it started raining and it quickly got heavier. Once we were high up it stopped and we were stuck at the top for about 10 minutes in the pouring rain," Hernandez said.

Six Flags Mexico said on social media that the storm had caused several rides to briefly shut down and that all procedures were followed.

"Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation, which created some inconvenient moments for our guests. Park staff provided assistance to all guests and no incidents were reported. Sky Screamer resumed normal operations shortly thereafter," Six Flags Mexico said.
