Dutch company Donkervoort, known for its exotic sports cars, has unveiled its new P24 RS model. This targa-bodied sports car stands out from other Donkervoort models thanks to its new powertrain and ultra-lightweight body, giving it a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of 770 hp per ton. This extreme new model features adjustable suspension, electronics, and aerodynamics, as well as engine output. Deliveries will begin in April, with only 150 P24 RS models being produced.

Previously, Donkervoort equipped its sports cars with a turbocharged five-cylinder engine from Audi, but with the company planning to discontinue this engine, it turned to Ford engines. The new model features a 3.5-liter V6 with a turbocharging system specially developed by Donkervoort's partners and a dry-sump lubrication system. The unit is capable of producing up to 600 hp and 800 Nm, but output can be limited to 400 or 500 hp. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission with a Torsen differential and a carbon fiber driveshaft.

The P24 RS is built on a three-dimensional aluminum and carbon fiber structure, which also forms the front subframe. The active shock absorbers can be optionally equipped with a hydraulic ride height adjustment system, and the standard four-piston AP Racing brakes can be equipped with carbon-ceramic units. Removable aerodynamic elements are also available for an additional fee, adding 90 kilograms of downforce and optimizing airflow around the exposed wheels.

The new car's dry weight is only 780 kilograms. As a result, the P24 RS can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 2.5 seconds, reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of over 300 km/h (186 mph). The sports car can withstand up to 2.3 Gs of acceleration during cornering. Depending on the driving conditions, the P24 RS driver can adjust engine output, suspension settings, traction control intervention, and a number of other parameters. The sports car doesn't come standard with ABS, power steering, or climate control, although these are available as an option.

The company announced that more than 50 pre-orders have already been taken. Pricing for the P24 RS is not publicly available, but the end of production of the previous P22 model was marked by the release of a special edition model, priced starting at €315,000.
