A Polish man sleeps in his car because of a messy apartment
Residents of an apartment complex in the Gotslav district had been tolerating their neighbor, Boguslav, for years. He was stuck in his building amid mountains of furniture and junk—so much so that he couldn't live there anymore. He eventually moved into his car. The other residents suffered no less: his apartment was infested with bedbugs and flies, and inspections of the gas system and ventilation had long since ceased.
Neighbors feared a fire or explosion and complained of unsanitary conditions, but authorities cited the constitutional right to private property and took no action. It wasn't until January, when a radiator burst due to the cold, black, dirty water flowing into the stairwell, elevator, and basement, flooding the entire building. Then the apartment owner finally agreed to have the building cleaned. ![]()
