Bargain renovation: a treasure worth $10,000 fell from the ceiling on a woman (6 photos)

A Pennsylvania resident narrowly escaped serious injury during a home renovation when a heavy metal toolbox suddenly collapsed from the ceiling.





The incident occurred in the home of a Pittsburgh couple who were renovating their home. The woman's husband shared more details on the popular Reddit forum.

According to Fred Garrison, his partner only slightly touched the hidden toolbox before it fell through. They were removing drainage system components at the time. Fortunately, the woman was unharmed and suffered only minor injuries.



Renovations are already considered one of the most stressful household tasks, and this incident could have ended much worse. However, the story took an unexpected turn when the couple decided to open the mysterious box.

Inside, they found several bags of silver coins.





A count revealed that the find included hundreds of dimes and quarters, as well as nickels, most of which contained up to 90 percent silver. A total of 454 dimes, 379 quarters, and 21 half dollars were found.

How much was the find worth?

At first, the couple didn't attach much importance to the find and even planned to simply take the coins to the bank. It was only after several months that Harrison decided to investigate their true value and was stunned by the results.



After analyzing the silver market and discussing the find online, it became clear that the collection could be worth between $9,000 and $10,000.



Despite the temptation to sell the silver at a profit, the couple decided to take their time. According to the American, they plan to keep the coins as an investment, as precious metal prices remain at record highs and continue to rise.
