Which is Faster – a Bugatti or a Koenigsegg? (1 photo + 1 video)
The YouTube channel Carwow has posted a video of a drag race featuring some of the world's fastest production cars. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut squared off in a drag race. They have identical power, suggesting a level playing field. The hypercars are priced identically – approximately $6.7 million each in the UK.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport has an eight-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers producing 1,600 hp and 1,600 Nm. The car's curb weight is 1,995 kilograms. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is equipped with a five-liter V8 with only two turbochargers. However, when running on E85 fuel, it produces 1,600 hp and 1,500 Nm. This hypercar is also lighter: 1,390 kilograms. However, it only has rear-wheel drive. The transmission is a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The competition proved to be extremely close. Bugatti's superior displacement, drivetrain, and traction didn't give the car an advantage.
