Turkish children who hadn't seen snow for 14 years had it unloaded from dump trucks
In Adınyan, in the Germenchik district, where it hadn't snowed for almost 14 years, students who had just received their report cards were treated to a truly wintery celebration. The local administration brought three truckloads of real snow from a neighboring district, and the children were able to play in it to their heart's content, despite its rarity in their city.
Snow was spread in several key locations in the city squares so that schoolchildren could enjoy sledding and snowball fights during the holidays. The event, dubbed the "Snow Festival," attracted many children and their families, and the mayor noted that the smiles on the children's faces were the best reward for the joy organized for them.
