The internet gave Jennifer Connelly an unexpected surprise: a scene recorded 34 years ago has regained popularity. Just a few days after the actress celebrated her 55th birthday on December 12, the Rolling Stone social media post has garnered over 11 million views.

In an interview, the actress shared her regrets about her most talked-about scene—the scene with the mechanical horse in the 1991 comedy "Career Opportunities."

Jennifer Connelly's horseback riding scene in "Career Opportunities" went viral on social media.

"I don't know about others, but I was very uncomfortable," Connelly said, reflecting on how the scene haunted her for a long time.

Connelly played Josie McClellan, a wealthy but emotionally lonely woman who finds herself locked in a Target store overnight with security guard Jim Dodge, played by Frank Whaley.

Filming took place at a real Target store in Decatur, Georgia. Principal photography began on November 13, 1989, when Connelly was 18 years old.

The film was released on March 29, 1991, and was a box office failure.

However, one scene remained etched in my memory: Connelly on a mechanical horse in a store. This provocative scene became the basis for the film's marketing.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jennifer recounted an unpleasant incident. A college professor approached her and said he'd seen a life-size advertising banner of hers.

"I've never seen that poster, but my friends told me," the actress shared.

The actress was depicted on a horse, with Whaley's face next to it, along with the slogan: "He's going to have the ride of his life!"

"That was absolutely not what I expected to hear from my professor," Connelly remarked.

This incident has left many wondering how scenes with provocative undertones can haunt actresses for decades.

Social media users didn't support the actress and simply laughed: "I bet the horse doesn't regret anything." "She regrets it, but it made her popular and recognizable"; "Just think! And nine years later, she played a drug addict" (referring to the film "Requiem for a Dream").

Some were puzzled how Connelly could regret the horse scene, given that she later played much darker roles. Others argued that the difference was one of freedom of choice and maturity.

Some were more categorical: "Older actresses criticize sexualization because it undermines their achievements. And because they can no longer exploit it."

Over the years, Jennifer has had a distinguished career, starring in such iconic films as Labyrinth, Requiem for a Dream, and A Beautiful Mind, for the latter of which she won an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Actress.
