A Sinkhole Suddenly Appears in the Center of Da Nang, Swallowing Two Cars (3 photos + 1 video)

On December 3, a section of Nguyen Cong Tru Street between the intersection of Ngo Quyen and Tran Hung Dao Streets (Da Nang City) suddenly collapsed after a powerful explosion. The roadway and sidewalk collapsed, creating a deep hole approximately 7 meters wide and almost 20 meters long.





Local residents reported that at the time of the incident, there were many parked cars near the construction site, and workers were moving through it. Two cars fell into the hole, and another became stuck at the edge. A passing worker became trapped under a car, and rescuers had to use a crane to free him and take him to the hospital for examination.



According to local residents, cracks in the road surface appeared several days ago. The subsidence occurred near a basement under construction.



The subsidence created a crater tens of meters long, swallowing two cars and injuring a worker.

Anhai County officials confirmed the above information. No injuries were reported. Authorities closed the entire road and dispatched emergency response equipment to clear the damage and remove the damaged vehicle.
