A French cyclist sets a world record by riding 150 km on a wheelie
The previous world record in this discipline, set by American Richard Flanagan, was almost half that distance – 81.59 km. Such athletic feats are nothing new to Delight; he has previously set similar records, riding 100.5 km without a front wheel and the same distance with one hand on the handlebars for 1 hour, 46 minutes, 36 seconds. To achieve this feat, he had to complete 752 laps of a special track in Vittel, France, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
It's noteworthy that Delight set the record on a regular Rose Bikes Sneak city bike. Its design included both modifications. First, it was fitted with ThickSlick tires from WTB, a gift from a sponsor. Second, the seat was tilted forward to reduce the strain on the tendons, as riding on the rear wheel significantly changes a person's position.
