Refreshed design and artistic interpretation

The eighth-generation Lexus ES takes a significant step forward compared to its predecessors, showcasing sharper, more modern exterior shapes and a cabin inspired by the interiors of the new wave of Chinese electric cars. While the car looks more modern, this naturally raises the question: can the design be developed even further?

Digital artist Theottle decided to test this idea by presenting a virtual version of the new ES with a sporty accent in the form of an F-Sport trim, inspired by the latest Lexus IS F-Sport. Since the previous ES model was offered with the F-Sport package, this rendering hints at what a similar version could look like if Lexus decided to bring it back in a new generation.

Lexus Keeps The IS Alive With Yet Another Facelift

In his work, the artist completely changed the front end, replacing the standard small lower grille with a much larger and more aggressive one, similar to the one installed on the new IS. While this grille may seem a bit large, it is complemented by sharp bumper elements, which gives the sedan a more expressive look.

Exterior improvements

In addition, the car's ground clearance has been slightly lowered and it also received a new set of wheels. Several changes have also affected the rear of the ES. These include the installation of a new bumper with a glossy black diffuser, chrome dual exhaust pipes and a large black spoiler on the tailgate - elements also borrowed from the new IS F Sport.

Powertrain List

In addition to renderings and speculation, Lexus has confirmed that the new 2026 ES will debut in both plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions. The 2026 lineup will start with the ES 350h, powered by a 243-hp 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine. It will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations, with Lexus estimating the all-wheel drive version to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.2 seconds.

On the electric side, two options are planned. The lineup starts with the ES 350e, a front-wheel drive model with a single 221-hp motor paired with a 77-kWh battery. Equipped with smaller 19-inch wheels, it should provide about 300 miles (483 km) of range.

Those who want more performance can opt for the 338-hp dual-motor ES 500e, equipped with a slightly smaller 75 kWh battery. This version will have a range of about 50 miles less, which is about 250 miles (402 km).

The emergence of such detailed renderings from third-party artists often indicates high public interest in the model and its possible versions. While Lexus has not yet officially announced the ES F-Sport, Theottle's work demonstrates what potential there is in the sedan's sporty styling, combining elegance with a more aggressive character. The variety of powertrains on offer, from traditional hybrids to full electric vehicles, indicates the brand's strategy to meet the diverse needs of the market in an era of transition to environmentally friendly technologies.
