A drunk passenger asked a flight attendant to marry him, and after she refused, he caused a scene on board (3 photos + 1 video)
On August 18, 30-year-old Matthew Taylor used drugs in a car and then drank three liters of beer in the departure lounge at Leeds Airport, England. After boarding a flight to Alicante, Spain, he proposed to flight attendant Brooke Crossley. 
After being refused, Taylor headed to his seat. During takeoff, the father of two refused to sit down and became argumentative with his fellow passengers. He became aggressive and began threatening Jet 2 staff.
When the flight attendants tried to calm him down, Taylor shouted, "You can't tell me what the hell to do!"
A passenger intervened, but he, too, was unable to control the troublemaker.
Eight minutes after takeoff, Brooke Crossley reported the troublemaker to the captain, and the decision was made to return to the airport.
At that point, Taylor called the flight attendants "little bitches" and declared, "Get ready for World War III when the police arrive."
At Leeds Crown Court, prosecutor Corey Booth said the passenger from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, was already drunk before landing: "Taylor's behavior could have been disastrous. A flight attendant with nine years of experience has never encountered anything like this."
Daisy Wrigley, the defendant's lawyer, noted that Taylor felt remorse, shame, and regret.
Judge Penelope Belcher sentenced the man to ten months in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of £187.
The airline was forced to provide a backup plane and crew, and the flight was delayed for a total of two hours and 24 minutes. The disruptive man's actions cost Jet2 thousands of pounds.
