A newborn seal was separated from its mother during a storm. It was found on the rocks near the RNLI lifeguard station in Porthcawl, Wales. The pup was starving and had wounds on its flippers and chin.
Marine Lifeguards arrived at the scene and carefully picked up the seal pup, who was likely less than a week old.
After first aid, the seal was transported to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) facility for treatment and rehabilitation. In a few months, he will be able to return to his natural habitat.
The rescue station shared the news: "We were informed today by the Marine Life Rescue Service that the seal pup is now at the Taunton facility. He has been named Elvis, given his connection to Porthcawl and the time of year."
The Elvis Presley Festival takes place annually in September in Porthcawl. It is the largest festival in Europe dedicated to the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
