The Drover's Tavern: A Scottish Refuge for Travelers and Ghosts (14 photos + 1 video)
North of picturesque Loch Lomond in Scotland stands the Drover's Inn, founded in 1705. It remains a popular pub and hotel, renowned for its cuisine and featuring live music every weekend.
However, guests who decide to spend the night here risk a sleepless night, as the Drover's Inn is reputed to be the most haunted pub in all of Scotland.
Loch Lomond
The history of this place dates back to the early 18th century, when the inn was built for shepherds driving their cattle along the banks of Loch Lomond to market. Among its famous guests was the Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor, who stayed here in 1716. Such a venerable age could not help but leave behind a trail of legends and mystical stories.

Room 2 is said to be haunted by an entire family. In the winter of 1792, one family, driven from their homeland, took a wrong turn in a snowstorm and froze to death before reaching the shelter. Since then, their ghosts, including a boy waving joyfully to guests, have been said to haunt the guests.
Robert Roy MacGregor (Red Robert) is a national hero of Scotland, a robber often called the Scottish Robin Hood.
Mysterious dancing lights, the nature of which remains unexplained, are seen in Room 6. The ghost of a little girl who once drowned in the river behind the tavern also appears there. She is said to be so fond of children that she can appear in photographs from children's parties.
The darkest legend tells of a cattleman named Angus. Three hundred years ago, he was brutally murdered by members of a rival clan, who hanged him from an old tree behind the tavern. Since then, his restless spirit has been screaming and moaning throughout the area around the Drover's Inn, searching for his tormentors.
Despite its rich paranormal history, the tavern remains popular with travelers and hikers, including the famous Western Highland Trail. It's the perfect place to catch your breath after a long journey, as long as guests don't mind sharing their shelter with the eternal guests from the shadow world.
