58 years ago, a miniature city was built off the coast of France for filming. There is a hairdresser, a supermarket, a church, a town square, an amphitheater and even a law office. The director and did not realize his idea, but the film city was chosen by divers.
The city is located near Cape Antibes. Tallest of buildings are only one meter high. Filmmakers built decorations for two years.

Filming of the musical "The Child and the Mermaid" began in 1965. However, the ambitious idea of filming underwater turned out to be beyond our capabilities to the director. Instead, the filmmakers used the services animation studio in Paris.

Over the decades, the structures have become dilapidated and covered algae. Only in 2007 did they decide to restore the city: there were buildings were cleaned and renovated, new elements were added such as ceramic tiles and bridges. The new look has made the city a popular destination among divers.
