Figure skater sets an unusual record
Hungarian athlete Eszter Szombathelyi got into the Guinness Book of Records thanks to her performance on the ice. The woman set a record for jumping rope.
The athlete performed 136 jumps over a rope in one minute on skates. The record was set at the rink in Sun Valley (Idaho, USA). Szombathelyi significantly exceeded the previous bar of 45 jumps set for this discipline by the Guinness Book of Records.
Eszter is known as a multiple Hungarian champion in figure skating among juniors and adults. According to her, the goal of this performance was not only the record itself, but also to inspire athletes to new forms of self-expression in figure skating.
"I want to inspire other skaters and performers to dream big and show that anything is possible if you are brave enough. I would like to expand the world of figure skating by adding a new, spectacular acrobatic element to it," she commented.
