A 48-year-old Polish woman set a new Guinness record by standing in a container with ice for 3 hours 6 minutes 45 seconds. This is a record time for women. According to the brave lady, she decided to set this record to test herself and inspire other women.





48-year-old Polish woman Katarzyna Jakubowska entered the Guinness Book of Records after standing up to her neck in ice for more than three hours. She broke the record for longest full-body contact with ice (among women) with an impressive time of 3 hours 6 minutes 45 seconds. The men's record also belongs to a Pole, Krzysztof Gajewski - 3 hours 11 minutes 27 seconds. In life, Katarzyna works as a designer, and decided to set a record to test her strength and inspire other women to achieve similar records.

“I believe that women have enormous power. I wanted to show by example that if we want something, we will definitely achieve it,” said the record holder.



Before setting the record, Katarzyna underwent many medical tests and made three training attempts, during which she monitored changes in body temperature. She also underwent hyperbaric oxygen therapy and massage, and practiced self-hypnosis to help her stay positive. According to Katarzyna, during the record attempt she felt no pain or discomfort - and almost no cold at all. This brave lady often participates in various walrus competitions in Poland, so she is accustomed to such extreme stress on the body.





During the setting of the record, the attendants also monitored the athlete’s body temperature and state of consciousness to ensure safety. In the end, everything went smoothly. Now Katarzyna plans to set several more world records in ice, and prove that women can set records at the same level as men.
