An Australian solved a Rubik's cube blindly in a record 12.1 seconds.
14-year-old Australian Charlie Eggins broke the world record for solving a Rubik's cube blind. This is stated on the website of the Guinness Book of Records.
It took Eggins 12.1 seconds to solve the 3x3x3 cube, 0.68 seconds faster than the previous record set in January 2023 by Tommy Cherry from the United States.
Cherry has held the championship since 2021, solving a Rubik's cube in 15.27 seconds while blindfolded. After that, the American improved the result five more times.
Eggins was able to surpass Cherry in the second round of the Australian Championship. As a result, he won the tournament with an average cube solving time of 17.47 seconds.
According to the speedcuber, he was overjoyed when he learned that he had set a world record. Eggins says he still can't believe it.
