Video has captured the moment a drunk passenger is escorted off a Ryanair flight at Toulouse Airport, France. The Briton sparked a bloody brawl by trying to open an emergency door mid-flight.

The man, wearing a white T-shirt and orange shorts, was heavily intoxicated and still resisting as police carried him along the runway.

The incident occurred on a flight from Bournemouth, UK, to Girona, Spain, on September 4. The man shouted, "I want to get out," and headed for the door.

Passengers tried to restrain him, and a fight broke out. The troublemaker spat and hit his fellow passengers. He was immobilized with seat belts, but even in this state, he headbutted a pensioner sitting next to him.

One of the eyewitnesses said: "The man went into the toilet, and then tried to open one of the emergency doors. He shouted, "I want to get out." A mass fight broke out. People tried to drag him away from the exit. Finally, he was knocked down and pinned to the floor. They managed to immobilize him with seat belts so that he did not kick."

David Malone shared: “One guy was clearly not himself, it took three people to restrain him. It was horrific, there was blood everywhere, people were screaming and crying. It was just disgusting. I felt ashamed to be British, to be honest. I feel sorry for the staff. Something needs to be done about the amount of alcohol they allow at the airport.”

The flight still arrived in Girona with a delay of 2 hours.

A Ryanair spokesman said: "On 4 September, a flight from Bournemouth to Girona was diverted to Toulouse due to disruptive behaviour by a passenger. The crew alerted the police in advance. The aircraft was met by officers and the disruptive passenger was removed before the flight departed."

"Ryanair has a zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behaviour by passengers and will continue to take robust action against disruptive behaviour to ensure a respectful, calm and safe onboard environment for all."
