In Mexico, a tiger latched onto a veterinarian (4 photos + 1 video)
A Bengal tiger attacked a veterinarian at the Camino Real del Tigre Zoo in Mazamitla, Mexico. The tiger grabbed the woman's coat and dragged her toward the wire fence that separated them. The tiger then tried to sink its fangs into her neck.
A colleague quickly responded and freed the woman. After the video went viral, the park's administration issued an official statement. In it, they assured that veterinarian Alejandra Mora and the animal were completely fine.
Alejandra thanked everyone for their concern and explained: "I am fine, as is Rayita. Yesterday he noticed my coat and wanted to play, so he grabbed me."
"Luckily, everything turned out well. Our specialists intervened and freed me from Rayita's clutches. Now he and I are feeling fine. I sincerely thank you for your support."
The woman confirmed that she was conducting a routine examination when the animal grabbed her.
A zoo representative reassured the public: "Don't worry! Our vet Alejandra was a little scared, but she is fine now and continues to care for the cats with love. At Camino Real del Tigre, we are one big family. Your safety and the safety of the animals are our top priority."

In December 2024, animal rights activists alleged that park employees were drugging tigers so that visitors could take photos with them. The Federal Environmental Prosecutor's Office, PROFEPA, closed the park for four days for an investigation.
