Eyewitnesses have shared footage of a driver being arrested in a London suburb. Plainclothes officers stop a car and start smashing the windows, but the man runs away.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "At around 11.45am on Tuesday, September 2, police stopped a suspicious vehicle on North Finchley Road. The driver, aged 32, sustained minor injuries as he climbed out of a broken window. He was arrested for possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. He remains in custody for questioning. Our employee was taken to hospital with minor injuries."
The incident occurred in broad daylight. In the video, the woman can be heard saying: "Oh my God, this is bad."
She later told the Daily Mail: "I went out for a snack and I witnessed it. There were a lot of people outside and everyone was watching. I've been working here for a few years and I've never seen anything like this."

This suburb belongs to the Finchley constituency, which was represented in Parliament by Margaret Thatcher.
