A passerby stood up for a woman who was robbed at an ATM (6 photos + 1 video)
In central London, an attacker attacked a woman at an ATM in broad daylight and stole her funds. The incident occurred near Oxford Street. In the footage, the man lurked behind his victim, then pushed her and snatched money.
The theft happened on Binnie Street at approximately 12:20pm while dozens of people were nearby.
When the woman was withdrawing funds, an unknown person approached her, pushed her, and began pressing the ATM buttons. He grabbed the money and rushed away.
A passerby realized what had happened and set off in pursuit of the thief. Apparently, he caught him, causing him to drop most of the cash.
"Police were called to Oxford Street at the junction of Binney Street at around 12.29pm on Monday 19 February following a report of a robbery. It is alleged that a man pushed a woman and then stole cash she had withdrawn from an ATM. The suspect fled , dropping the money. The funds were returned to the victim by an employee of a local store, who reported the incident to the police. An investigation has been launched," the Metropolitan Police Service commented.
