Tourist tried to get an elephant to drink beer
A Spanish citizen was filming in one of the national parks of Kenya, and then gave one of the local elephants a drink of beer from a bottle. The footage of the tourist's behavior angered animal rights activists and locals, who are demanding that the offender be punished.
Journalists confirmed the authenticity of the footage. All data indicate that the filming took place in the Ol Jogi Conservancy in Laikipia County (Central Kenya).
"This should never have happened. We are engaged in nature conservation and cannot allow this. We do not even allow people to approach elephants," said the local caretaker of the reserve, Frank.
Now the man involved in this incident has deleted the video from his social networks, and local law enforcement is already handling the case, reports the BBC.
After this incident, the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife tightened the rules of conduct. Now all operators and guides must monitor the movements of tourists, new warning signs will be installed, some routes will be changed and information work will be strengthened.
