The new Geely Galaxy A7 hybrid sedan was estimated in China at 103,800 yuan (8 photos)
The new model can travel 150 kilometers on electricity alone and over 2,100 kilometers with a full tank
The Geely Galaxy A7 plug-in hybrid sedan, which debuted in China last month, is now available for pre-order. The 4.9-meter new model with a range of over 2,100 kilometers and an “autopilot” is offered in five versions at prices ranging from 103,800 to 133,800 yuan. In China, those who reserve the car now will subsequently be promised various discounts totaling 14,800 yuan.
The A7 is the third petrol-electric sedan in the Galaxy family: it fills the niche between the more compact Galaxy L6 EM-i and the flagship Galaxy Starsine 8. Built on the GEA (Geely Electric Architecture) platform, the model has dimensions of 4918x1905x1495 mm and a wheelbase of 2845 mm.
The sedan received a new, particularly economical EM-i AI Super Hybrid 2.0 powertrain, which uses elements of "artificial intelligence" to improve efficiency. It includes a 1.5-liter 112-horsepower naturally aspirated engine with a thermal efficiency of 47.26%, which the manufacturer calls a record, and a 238-horsepower electric motor. The declared fuel consumption is 2.67 liters per 100 kilometers. In the two junior trim levels, the Galaxy A7 is equipped with an 8.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which allows driving only on electricity up to 70 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC test cycle. In the three senior trim levels, the battery capacity is increased to 18.4 kilowatt-hours, and the range in electric vehicle mode is up to 150 kilometers.
A fully charged and fueled new product is capable of traveling over 2,100 kilometers. For comparison: another large hybrid sedan, which recently entered the Chinese market, the Chery Fullwin A9L, has a range of 2,000 kilometers in one of its versions. However, this is a more prestigious model with rich standard equipment, and it costs almost one and a half times more - from 149,900 yuan.
The Geely Galaxy A7 is already equipped in the basic configuration with a Flyme Auto media system with a 15.4-inch touchscreen, support for voice commands and wireless software updates, as well as a set of G-Pilot H3 driving assistants. In the senior assemblies, a projection display, heated, ventilated and massaged seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Flyme Sound acoustic system with 16 speakers (there are half as many in the base), advanced adaptive cruise control and an automatic parking assistant appear.
