Geely Automobile Group CEO Gan Jiayu spoke about the upcoming car with a hybrid powertrain NordThor of the new generation. The first model with the new filling will be the Galaxy Starship 7 crossover. Fuel consumption will be about 3 liters, and the power reserve - 2000 km.
Geely announced the new generation of NordThor back in the spring, presenting the concept of the full-size crossover Starship at the Beijing Auto Show. It is expected that in serial production it will receive the index L9 and will become the flagship of the Galaxy family.
The Galaxy Starship 7 is another, more compact new model that the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade partially declassified earlier this month as part of the usual certification activities. There are few details about the technical components of the new product, but it is known, for example, that the hybrid powertrain of the 4.74-meter SUV will include a 1.5-liter 112-horsepower internal combustion engine.
According to updated data, the new Geely hybrid system uses an internal combustion engine with a thermal efficiency of 46% - for comparison, the current Galaxy L7 has a figure of 44.26%. The total range should exceed 2,000 kilometers, and the average fuel consumption will be less than 3 liters per 100 kilometers. In fact, this is Geely's response to a similar system from BYD, which was presented this spring and has already been implemented in a number of models.
