Strong winds and rain forced a Boeing 737 passenger plane of Batik Air to return to its departure airport, Soekarno-Hatta, Indonesia. The aircraft with 141 people on board almost capsized
A Boeing 737 passenger plane of Batik Air made a difficult landing at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport near Jakarta. Visibility was only 1,000 meters, there was a downpour and dangerous cumulonimbus clouds hung over the airport.
The aircraft, tail number PK-LDJ, had a significant roll to the right during its approach to land. As a result, one of the plane’s wings came dangerously close to the runway surface.
“The aircraft remains fit for operation after the incident, which was caused by difficult weather conditions. “All flight procedures were followed,” the airline said in a statement on the X social network.
There were 141 passengers on board, no one was injured. The landing was completed safely, despite the extreme weather conditions.
