Hard landing of a double-decker Boeing 747 (4 photos + 1 video)
The video captured the frightening landing of a Lufthansa Boeing 747 at Los Angeles Airport. The ship bounced twice on the runway before being forced back into the sky.
The video was published on the Airline Videos Live channel, which broadcasts live from the California airport.
"Don't miss the dramatic footage of a Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i landing in front of the Airline Videos Live cameras at LAX on Tuesday, April 23, 2024," the caption reads.
The aircraft, operating flight 456 Frankfurt - Los Angeles, was landing normally until its wheels touched the ground. A cloud of white smoke burst out from under the landing gear and the plane jerked upward.
When the plane bounces, the channel's creator, Kevin Ray, can't help but scream.
“Holy saints!” Ray exclaimed. “Incredible! This is the hardest landing we have ever seen on our air.”
After another unsuccessful attempt, the pilot decided to go around. The 400-seat Boeing took to the skies.
Ray noted that after the unsuccessful landing he smelled burning rubber.
The plane circled the airport and soon landed safely.
