At Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires, hurricane-force wind gusts moved the plane several meters. A Boeing 737-700 of Aerolíneas Argentinas airlines hit the passenger ramp with its wing and brought it down.
The 17-year-old aircraft, registered LV-CAD, was damaged and was sent for repairs. His next scheduled flight to Francisco Gabrielli International Airport was canceled Sunday morning.
Aerolineas Argentinas said in a statement on December 18: "Due to the severe storm, 100 flights have now been canceled and the same number delayed and rescheduled."
