SBS fighters destroyed a rare North Korean MLRS with an attack drone
Operators of the 413th Raid Battalion of the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a rare M1991 North Korean-made MLRS for the first time with a well-aimed strike from a Ukrainian FPV drone. This was reported by the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
The destruction of the M1991 multiple launch rocket system occurred in the Novopavlovsk direction.
The pilot hit one of the shells on the guide package with a strike UAV. The ammunition detonated and pierced the crew cabin, and then detonated the entire ammunition.
The M1991 is a North Korean analogue of the Soviet 220 mm Uragan MLRS, but with an increased caliber - 240 mm, and a range of up to 60 km, the SBS recalled.
The presence of these systems in the enemy's arsenal was first confirmed on video in April 2025.
