The European division of Nissan has declassified the new generation of the compact Micra. From a city hatchback, the model has been transformed into a super-compact crossover, which will be sold only with electric motors. The power reserve of the new model in the European version reaches 408 kilometers, sales of the electric car in the region will start at the end of this year.
With a length of less than 4 meters, the Nissan Micra has a wheelbase of 2.54 meters and a trunk of 326 liters. The electric car will be produced only in a five-door version. The all-terrain capability of the new model is emphasized by massive bumpers and plastic side trims, as well as wide rear pillars, while its modernity and electric nature are emphasized by original LED lighting. It is noteworthy that the new Micra will be equipped with only 18-inch wheels in three design options. 14 shades will be offered for body painting, which can be combined with a black or gray roof.
The laconic interior includes seats with increased lateral support, an angular steering wheel, and a massive block of screens. By default, it will consist of 10.1-inch displays. The company has not yet reported on the nuances of the Micra interior equipment.
The initial version of the electric car will receive a 122-horsepower engine (225 Nm) in combination with a 40 kW⋅h battery. Such a Micra will travel 308 kilometers without recharging. The older version is a 150-horsepower, 245 Nm engine, and a 52-kilowatt battery, providing a range of 408 kilometers. A charger with a capacity of 80 or 100 kW, depending on the battery, will replenish the energy reserve from 15 to 80% in 30 minutes. The basic package includes a heat pump for the battery.
Nissan separately notes that, despite the transition to electric traction, the Micra has remained relatively light - from 1,400 to 1,524 kilograms. In addition, the competitive advantage of the new product should be a fully independent suspension.
