Refrigerator with a double-sided door

A vintage refrigerator whose main feature was the ability to open the door in any direction without having to move the hinges.

In the 1950s, the American company Philco introduced a refrigerator that was ahead of its time. This unit, captured on video, has a double handle that, like a lever in an old game, drops down on the right or left, allowing the door to be opened from either side.
