Tesla demand has been falling for the fourth month in a row amid growing electric market. 
According to the results of April, Tesla recorded another drop in sales in European countries. According to Reuters, in a number of regions the rate of decline was the highest in the last 2.5 years. For example, in Sweden, Tesla's popularity fell by 81%. In April, only 203 electric cars were bought there.
Among the countries where Tesla is being bought less and less, the Netherlands (minus 74%), Denmark (minus 67%) and France (minus 59%) were also named. In general, in the EU, demand for American electric cars fell by 37.2%, while total sales of electric cars increased by 28%.
The agency's experts note that Tesla's popularity may return to its previous level after the start of full deliveries of the updated Model Y, but the current decline will inevitably affect the company's annual results. They explain it by growing competition from both traditional automakers and Chinese brands that are increasing their presence in Europe. They offer more technologically advanced and often more affordable models. Accordingly, the market share of Chinese manufacturers, although small at the moment, is steadily growing, while Tesla's presence is decreasing.
In addition, the demand for Tesla is affected by the political activity of the company's head Elon Musk: some potential owners of electric cars refuse to purchase Tesla in protest against his views. The current situation gave rise to a rumor some time ago that the Tesla board of directors is already looking for a replacement for Musk in order to restore the brand's reputation, but this information was later denied by the company.
According to the results of the first quarter, Tesla has a negative balance, and the company is revising its forecasts for 2025 downwards.
