A bridge over the Chaobai River in the northeastern Shunyi District of Beijing collapsed after a fire. The incident occurred on the morning of April 23. 
Currently, traffic on the crossing has been blocked in both directions, and public transport routes have been changed. Law enforcement officers and firefighters arrived at the scene.
One of the eyewitnesses to the incident also said that he was fishing near the bridge at around 4:00 local time when the lights on the crossing suddenly went out. He added that thick black smoke began to come out from under it about 40 minutes later.
