The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, collapsed after a container ship crashed into it.
Authorities declared a mass casualty incident as emergency services, including the Coast Guard and fire department, mobilized to the scene.
It is reported that more than a dozen cars and many people may be in the water as a result of the bridge collapse. The ship that crashed into the bridge caught fire and then sank.

“All lanes are currently closed and traffic is being detoured through the port tunnel or through the city.”
The bridge, built in 1977, carried approximately 11.5 million vehicles annually.
